– Canadian Business unveils the 30th annual list of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies –

Toronto (September 13, 2018) Canadian Business and Maclean’s today ranked Green Standards No. 147 on the 30th annual Growth 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. Produced by Canada’s premier business and current affairs media brands, the Growth 500 ranks Canadian businesses on five-year revenue growth. Our environmental firm and other Growth 500 winners have been profiled in a special print issue of Canadian Business published with Maclean’s magazine and online at CanadianBusiness.com and Growth500.ca.

Green Standards made the 2018 Growth 500 list with five-year revenue growth of 596%. Green Standards’ team of environmental stewards provides businesses with a responsible, cost-effective way to redistribute surplus office furniture and equipment. Through a managed program of asset resale, recycling, and donation, we’re able to generate measurable value for companies and local communities.

“The companies on the 2018 Growth 500 are truly remarkable. Demonstrating foresight, innovation and smart management, their stories serve as a primer for how to build a successful entrepreneurial business today,” says Deborah Aarts, Growth 500 program manager. “As we celebrate 30 years of the Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies program, it’s encouraging to see that entrepreneurship is healthier than ever in this country.”

“We are honoured to be on the Growth 500 ranking for the second straight year,” says Executive General Manager, Trevor Langdon.

“This milestone demonstrates just how much value remains in something that far too often becomes waste. It’s a novel win for corporate social responsibility over an environmental issue that has only recently received any attention at all.”

Green Standards’ team lead the sustainable decommissions of 10 million square feet of office space annually, reducing CO2e by more than 146,000 metric tons on corporate real estate projects. Since 2009, GSL has diverted more than 45 thousand tons of furniture waste from landfill and recently surpassed another milestone of $25 million worth of in-kind donations to over 4,400 non-profits and community partners across North America.
