Light the fireworks and break out the champagne glasses! Green Standards has won gold at the Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO) Awards Gala in the category of “Product or Service Innovation.” For over 30 years, the RCO has recognized waste reduction leadership, innovation, excellence and commitment to a sustainable environment through their annual awards program. The event, which coincided with Waste Reduction Week in Ontario, took place on October 21, 2016 at the Allstream Centre, and was attended by many in the waste management sector and CSR leaders in Ontario who are working towards building a more sustainable province.
Here at Green Standards, we are honored to receive this award. Our goal is to be environmental leaders in the corporate real estate sphere and this award is a welcomed support of our efforts. This was Green Standards’ first time participating in RCO’s annual awards.
Other award winners included municipalities leading the way in residential recycling programs, corporations revitalizing their waste strategies, and waste management business innovating how we as a society perceive and treat waste. Congratulations to fellow 2015 winners!
We want to thank the RCO for recognizing our efforts in changing the way corporations view excess office furniture and equipment. Millions of tons of office furniture and equipment are sent to the landfill each year in North America – and we’re here to change that.
